Solid surface materials have stood the test of time.  Many homeowners are familiar with solid surface material and recognize the name Corian.  Today there are many manufacturers of solid surface material and there are more colors than one might imagine from solid colors to those that emulate natural stone, terrazzo, solid with small chips of almost glass looking material to the look of concrete.  There are colors that would work well with any interior from traditional to contemporary.  The qualities of solid surface material are many.  Because the pattern runs through the entire thickness of the product, nicks and scratches can be easily sanded out of a top in a matte finish. Accidental major damage, or damage to a polished finish top, can be repaired by a qualified fabricator.  Solid surface seams are inconspicuous, hygienic, and non-porous. Trivets and cutting boards must be used.
